Wokingham Borough Council is seeking an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Team Manager to lead a well-resourced AMHP service in Adult Social Care. The role is full-time, permanent, with hybrid working across council offices and partner sites.

You will oversee the AMHP workforce, ensure high professional standards, shape the strategy, and support staff through supervision and development. A strong leadership ethos and partnership work are essential.

Formación

• Professional qualification as a social worker, registered mental health or learning disability nurse, or occupational therapist.
• Current AMHP qualification and relevant professional registration.
• Experience of working as an AMHP.
• Experience of managing staff, providing supervision and supporting performance.
• Operational management experience within mental health or adult social care.
• Full driving licence and daily access to a car.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the AMHP service, ensuring Mental Health Act work is safe, lawful and meets professional standards.
• Manage day-to-day service including workload allocation, resources and performance.
• Provide supervision, development and ongoing support to AMHPs.
• Engage with service users and carers to shape service development and recruitment.
• Build strong relationships with partners and represent the AMHP service locally, regionally and nationally.
• Use feedback and data to drive continuous improvement of the service.
