Job summary

Ledbury Town Council is seeking a practical Amenity Area Operative to join the Operations Team in Ledbury. You will maintain parks, open spaces, the cemetery and public amenities, assisting with markets and events and supporting the Operations Manager with varied tasks.

The role requires grounds maintenance, horticulture or landscaping experience, a full driving licence, and willingness to work outdoors in all weather, with occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends to suit schedules.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, practical and reliable individual to join our Operations Team as an Amenity Area Operative. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the town's parks, open spaces, cemetery and public amenities, helping to ensure that Ledbury remains an attractive, safe and welcoming place for residents and visitors. Working under the direction of the Operations Manager, you will undertake a wide range of grounds maintenance and horticultural duties, support the operation of the Council's cemetery and assist with markets, events and other operational activities throughout the year. The successful applicant will have experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture or landscaping as well as the use of hand tools and buildings maintenance. Relevant qualifications in horticulture, grounds maintenance, first aid or pesticide application would be advantageous but are not essential. A full driving licence is essential for this role. This role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and occasional early mornings, evenings and alternative weekends to support markets, events and operational requirements.
