Job summary

Ledbury Town Council is seeking an Amenity Area Operative to maintain town parks, open spaces, cemetery and public amenities in Ledbury. You will work under the Operations Manager performing grounds maintenance and horticultural duties and support markets and events throughout the year.

The role requires experience in grounds maintenance or horticulture, familiarity with hand tools, and a valid driving licence. Outdoor work and occasional early mornings or weekends are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture or landscaping.
• Experience using hand tools and buildings maintenance.
• Relevant horticulture/grounds maintenance qualifications advantageous.
• Full driving licence is essential.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, practical and reliable individual to join our Operations Team as an Amenity Area Operative.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the town's parks, open spaces, cemetery and public amenities, helping to ensure that Ledbury remains an attractive, safe and welcoming place for residents and visitors.

Working under the direction of the Operations Manager, you will undertake a wide range of grounds maintenance and horticultural duties, support the operation of the Council's cemetery and assist with markets, events and other operational activities throughout the year.

The successful applicant will have experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture or landscaping as well as the use of hand tools and buildings maintenance. Relevant qualifications in horticulture, grounds maintenance, first aid or pesticide application would be advantageous but are not essential.

A full driving licence is essential for this role.

This role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and occasional early mornings, evenings and alternative weekends to support markets, events and operational requirements.
