Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe – Llanidloes is seeking a reliable Facilities Cleaner to join our team. You will maintain clean, safe staff areas across the site, following housekeeping procedures and hygiene standards to support a productive workplace.

The role runs Monday to Friday with early shifts, and requires attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work independently or with others to ensure consistent cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining clean, safe staff facilities.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and SDS is desirable.
• Ability to work to hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean staff facilities (canteens, changing rooms, toilets, laundry) to required standards daily.
• Sweep, mop, dust, empty bins and polish surfaces to high hygiene levels.
• Keep laundry area tidy and stocked with cleaning products and PPE.
• Launder dirty gloves and return clean PPE to production staff as required.
• Visually inspect toilets and stock consumables (soap, toilet rolls, towels).
• Check fridge temperatures and report out-of-spec results to supervisor.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards and raise concerns as needed.

Dolwen, Oakleys Park, Llanidloes, SY18 6LX

Shift pattern:

Monday to Friday

Working hours:

• 05:15am – 13:15pm
• 08:30am – 15:3-pm

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure staff facilities such as the staff canteens, changing facilities, toilets, lairage hygiene area, laundry room and managerial offices are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards at the specified frequency as outlined in the housekeeping cleaning procedures.
• Provide a high quality cleaning service that includes tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, emptying bins and polishing surfaces.
• Ensure that the laundry room is kept clean, tidy, stocked of cleaning products and protective overalls, gloves and for the collection of dirty overalls for sending to the contracted laundry provider.
• Responsible for ensuring that dirty cut gloves are laundered and clean gloves are handed back out to production personnel and ensure that PPE such as waterproof leggings are cleaned.
• Ensure that toilet areas are visually inspected at the defined frequency during the course of the working day to ensure that the areas are kept tidy and stocked of toilet consumables eg soap, toilet rolls, paper towels.
• Check the staff canteen fridge temperatures and report any out of specification results to the Technical Manager in the first instance.
• To maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene at all times and raise any concerns with the Technical Manager in the first instance.

Skills:

• Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations, Hygiene Regulations, Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and a familiarity with material Safety Data Sheets are desirable within this role.
