YorMed Ambulance Service is seeking an ambulance care assistant who also drives, to operate across the UK on bank shifts. You will drive ambulances, assist paramedics with patient handling, and ensure safety, dignity and confidentiality during transport.

The role requires a full manual UK driving licence with ≤3 speeding points and a DBS check before deployment, plus prior customer service experience. DBS checks and travel readiness are essential.

Competenze

• GCSEs at grade C (4) or Functional Key Skills level 2.
• Full manual UK driving licence with no more than 3 speeding points.
• No drink or drug offences on the licence.
• DBS check before deployment.
• Previous customer service experience.

Mansioni

• Drive ambulances safely, considering road conditions and patient comfort.
• Assist paramedics with patient handling and transfers.
• Transport walking and wheelchair patients, including stretcher moves.
• Maintain patient dignity and confidentiality during transit.
• Provide first aid where needed and respond to emergencies.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Load and unload medical equipment and supplies.
• Communicate with team, emergency services and patients.
• Complete vehicle, journey, patient and inspection records.
• Identify concerns about patients' home environments.
• Reschedule planned work to take on additional patients.
• Participate in infection control cleaning routines.
