Job summary

West ACC Advert Emergency Call Handlers SAS NHS Pay Band 3 (Plus Unsocial) at Caledonia House, Cardonald, Glasgow is recruiting for full-time and part-time permanent relief roles in the West of Scotland Ambulance Control Centre. You will handle 999 calls, provide life-saving guidance, prioritise emergencies and coordinate with ambulance crews and other services.

Training is provided and unsocial hours pay applies.

Qualifications

• Typing speed 30 words per minute with 90% accuracy required.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritise and decide quickly under pressure.
• Experience working with the public in healthcare, ACCs, or call centres is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide life-saving advice and medical guidance to 999 callers.
• Prioritise calls and act as first point of contact for the public.
• Liaise with ambulance crews en route, Police Scotland and other emergency services.
• Support ongoing communications and ensure accurate information is relayed.
