Job summary

EMED Group in Slough is seeking an Ambulance Care Assistant to support patients on their journeys to and from medical facilities. This permanent, full-time role includes shifts from 05:00 to 01:00 and requires a UK manual driving licence and good physical fitness.

You will drive patients between appointments and healthcare facilities, assist with transfers, and help patients in and out of the Ambulance, while maintaining dignity and empathy. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence (6 points maximum)
• Ability to work flexible shifts between 05:00 and 01:00, Monday to Sunday with notice
• Committed to patient care
• Effective communicator with empathy in emotional circumstances
• Physically fit for patient handling

Responsibilities

• Driving patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities
• Lifting, securing and helping patients in and out of the Ambulance
• Transferring patients between beds, stretchers, chairs or similar in hospital/medical settings
• Handing over patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospital or to family/friends at their homes
• Keeping the ambulance clean and safe
