Job summary

EMED Group is seeking an Ambulance Care Assistant to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent. The role is full-time, 38.5 hours per week, operating on a 4 on, 4 off rota, with shifts between 08:30 and 23:00.

You will transport service users to appointments and between healthcare facilities, requiring a full UK manual driving licence and good physical fitness. Benefits include life assurance, sick pay, GP access, support services, pension, and employee assistance programmes.

Qualifications

• Valid UK manual driving licence (six points maximum).
• Physically fit for patient handling and movement.
• Excellent communication and empathy in potentially emotional situations.
• Willingness to work in a team to deliver care.

Responsibilities

• Transport elderly, sick and vulnerable service users to and from medical appointments and between facilities.
• Assist in handing over patients to staff on arrival at treatment centres or to families at home.
• Assist with transferring patients between beds, stretchers and chairs inside and outside hospital settings.
• Keep ambulance safe, clean and well-maintained.
