Ambulance Care Assistant (Driver): Days

Location: Ashford, Kent : TN23 4FG

Salary: GBP 26,984.10 per annum

Full-Time Shifts: 42.5 hours per week (various shifts available)

The Role

The Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) plays an important role in helping people receive the care they need. This role requires empathy and compassion, skills you will develop during our two-week initial training and development programme, with support from our expert team.

As an Ambulance Care Assistant with Patient Transport Services, you'll transport elderly, sick, and vulnerable patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities, demonstrating compassion during times of vulnerability. We work together to ensure every journey supports our community, the NHS, and our patients.

This vital role involves providing excellent care, ensuring safety and patient welfare, and being prepared for any situation through comprehensive training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Driving patients with varying health and mobility needs to and from hospital/clinic appointments
  • Assisting, moving, and handling patients, using appropriate equipment where necessary
  • Ensuring safety and patient welfare at all times, providing reassurance and support
  • Assisting patients entering and leaving their homes
  • Maintaining vehicle and equipment cleanliness
  • Liaising with the central control team for timely patient pick-up and drop-off
  • Undertaking patient and vehicle risk assessments, completing reports and documentation
The Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria

  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Physically fit to ensure safety and wellbeing of patients
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sympathetic, respectful, and caring attitude towards patients
  • Flexibility and adaptability to service needs
  • Enhanced DBS check: applied for and paid by the business
