Job summary

Catering in Keighley, Bradford, is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join a growing practice. You will manage a small client portfolio and work on accounts prep, VAT, and cloud bookkeeping using Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent.

The role requires at least 3 years of UK practice experience, strong client liaison skills, and the ability to work independently in an office-based setting. Salary £28,000–£32,000, full-time.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ recent experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience with VAT returns.
• Experience processing accounting records through to trial balance.
• Strong knowledge of cloud bookkeeping and accounting software.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of small business clients and oversee workflow.
• Use cloud accounting software to maintain accurate records.
• Liaise with clients by telephone and email.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Assist with Making Tax Digital department.
• Support senior accountants with processing entries to trial balance.
• Prepare management accounts and statutory accounts.
• Manage workloads effectively and meet client deadlines.
