Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment is assisting an independent accountancy practice in Eastleigh to hire an Accounts Semi-Senior. You will manage VAT returns, bookkeeping using Xero/QuickBooks/Sage, and support month-end/year-end processes while building strong client relationships.

There is hybrid working, study support, and a chance to develop technical expertise in a fast-paced environment across individuals, small businesses andNot-for-profit organisations.

Qualifications

• AAT level 4 or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years in an accountancy practice with year-end accounts.
• Proactive, client-focused approach with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC.
• Maintain bookkeeping using cloud software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
• Support month-end and year-end processes.
• Assist with MTD for ITSA, including digital records and quarterly submissions.
• Build and maintain client relationships and provide guidance.
• Assist in preparing financial accounts for various entities.

Our client is looking for an Accounts Semi-Senior to join their busy team in Eastleigh.

They are an independent accountancy practice providing services to individuals, businesses, and not-for-profit organisations across the UK and Europe.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client portfolio while developing technical expertise in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC requirements.
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using cloud accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
• Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Assist with Making Tax Digital (MTD) for ITSA, including digital record-keeping and quarterly submissions.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing professional support and guidance.
• Assist in the preparation of financial accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships across a range of industries.

Requirements

• AAT studier (level 4) or qualified by experience.
• Minimum 2 years' experience within an accountancy practice and year end accounts
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, client-focused approach with strong communication skills.
• Reviewed junior work / peer to peer support of trainees
