Job summary

Chartwells Independent in Reigate and Banstead seeks an ambitious Chef to join on a full-time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week (40.6 weeks per year). You will prepare and serve high-quality food, oversee menu changes, and drive improvements in food services for our clients and customers.

The ideal candidate brings a passion for great-tasting food, City & Guilds NVQ equivalents, and a proven track record in a chef role with strong hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent is required.
• Experience supervising a team in a kitchen.
• Food Hygiene certificate holder.
• Flexible approach to working.
• Experience in a similar Chef role.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve our food services.
• Listening to customer feedback to continually improve our services.
• Supporting creation of new menus and creative food concepts.
• Representing Chartwells and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep kitchens well-stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
