Job summary

Compass Group UK&I seeks an ambitious Chef for Chartwells in the UK. The role is full-time, contracted at 40 hours per week, with responsibilities including preparing high-quality food, supervising kitchen staff, and contributing to menu development.

You will work to maintain hygiene standards and deliver excellent customer service across multiple venues. Ideal candidates will hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalents, have kitchen leadership experience, and a flexible approach to shifts.

Qualifications

• Responsible for preparing high-quality food to delight clients and customers
• Experience supervising a kitchen or food service team
• Strong customer service mindset and ability to respond to feedback
• Flexibility in shifts and willingness to contribute to menu changes

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, high-quality food for clients and customers
• Oversee and implement menu changes
• Identify opportunities to improve food services
• Respond to customer feedback to continually improve offerings
• Assist with creation of new menus and food concepts
• Represent Chartwells and maintain a positive brand image
• Monitor inventories to keep kitchens well-stocked
• Ensure kitchen hygiene and cleanliness to high standards
• Comply with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations
