Job summary

ABM UK is seeking a PRM Airside Driver at Aberdeen Airport. You will drive specialist vehicles on the airfield to transfer passengers with reduced mobility from aircraft to terminal and assist onto seats or into vehicles. Full training provided.

Requirements include a full clean UK driving license with D1; prior experience with large vehicles is an advantage. Shift pattern is 6 on 3 off, 40 hours per week. Benefits include 24/7 GP, mental health support, cycle to work.

Qualifications

• Full clean UK driving license with D1.
• Experience in a similar role or driving larger vehicles is advantageous.
• Police clearance may be required if the candidate has spent time outside the UK in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Drive ABM vehicles safely and securely at all times.
• Assist PRMs onto aircraft seats or into vehicles using safe manual handling techniques.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Support terminal duties as needed, including escorting passengers through security and boarding.
• Update progress of tasks to Allocator using PDAs and radios.
• Comply with Aberdeen airport airside driving requirements.

LOCATION: Aberdeen Airport, AB21 7DU

SHIFT PATTERN: 6 on 3 off, 40 hours per week

PAY RATE: £14.59 per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

Working as a member of the PRM Airside Driver Team, you will drive the Company's specialist vehicles on the airfield to transfer passengers with reduced mobility (PRM's) from the aircraft to the terminal building or from the terminal building to the aircraft. The Vehicles range from Minibuses to Class 2 rigid heavy good type vehicles, for which full training and instruction would be given. You will also be required to assist PRM's onto the aircraft, to their seat or into the ABM vehicles or terminal buildings which involves passenger and manual handling techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete the daily Vehicle Check Sheet, to maintain the operational reliability of the vehicle, reporting when necessary any vehicle defaults in line with the Vehicle Inspection procedure.
• Drive the Company vehicles ensuring that the vehicle is safe and secure at all times.
• Operate the vehicle safely within close proximity to the aircraft using all safety systems of the vehicle.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle at all times.
• Deliver or collect the passengers at the aircraft door and assist with the transfer into their seat or wheelchair through safe manual handling techniques.
• Complete Customer Care Agent (CCA) duties within the terminal when demand requires, this may include escorting passengers through the terminal/security and boarding flights or meeting arriving flights and assisting PRM's through to baggage reclaim.
• Ensure that the Allocator is updated on progress of jobs at all times using PDA's and Radio.
• Observe all Aberdeen airport airside driving requirements.
• Promote a safe and secure environment at all times.

• Carry out any reasonable task requested.
