Job summary

ABM ABM is seeking a PRM Airside Driver at Aberdeen Airport to operate specialist vehicles for passenger transfers between aircraft and terminal, including helping passengers to seats with safe manual handling. You will drive various vehicle types and may perform terminal duties when needed.

The role requires a full clean UK driving license with D1 and offers a 6 on, 3 off shift pattern (40 hours/week) with a pay rate of £14.59 per hour.

Qualifications

• A full clean UK driving license with D1 is required.
• Experience in a similar role or driving larger vehicles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Complete the daily Vehicle Check Sheet to maintain vehicle reliability.
• Drive company vehicles safely and securely at all times.
• Operate vehicles near aircraft using all safety systems.
• Keep the vehicle clean and tidy at all times.
• Assist PRMs onto aircraft and into seats using safe manual handling.
• Perform Customer Care Agent duties in the terminal when needed.
• Keep the Allocator updated on job progress using PDA/radio.
• Follow Aberdeen airport airside driving requirements.
• Promote a safe and secure environment at all times.

Job description

LOCATION: Aberdeen Airport, AB21 7DU

SHIFT PATTERN: 6 on 3 off, 40 hours per week

PAY RATE: £14.59 per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

Working as a member of the PRM Airside Driver Team, you will drive the Company’s specialist vehicles on the airfield to transfer passengers with reduced mobility (PRM’s) from the aircraft to the terminal building or from the terminal building to the aircraft. The Vehicles range from Minibuses to Class 2 rigid heavy good type vehicles, for which full training and instruction would be given. You will also be required to assist PRM’s onto the aircraft, to their seat or into the ABM vehicles or terminal buildings which involves passenger and manual handling techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete the daily Vehicle Check Sheet, to maintain the operational reliability of the vehicle, reporting when necessary any vehicle defaults in line with the Vehicle Inspection procedure.
• Drive the Company vehicles ensuring that the vehicle is safe and secure at all times
• Operate the vehicle safely within close proximity to the aircraft using all safety systems of the vehicle
• Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle at all times.
• Deliver or collect the passengers at the aircraft door and assist with the transfer into their seat or wheelchair through safe manual handling techniques.
• Complete Customer Care Agent (CCA) duties within the terminal when demand requires, this may include escorting passengers through the terminal/security and boarding flights or meeting arriving flights and assisting PRM’s through to baggage reclaim.
• Ensure that the Allocator is updated on progress of jobs at all times using PDA’s and Radio.
• Observe all Aberdeen airport airside driving requirements
• Promote a safe and secure environment at all times

Requirements:

• Full clean UK driving license with D1.
• Experience in a similar role or driving larger vehicles would be an advantage
