Job summary

Manpower UK in Lichfield is seeking a Press Brake Operator / Setter to join a busy production team. You will set and operate Amada press brakes, producing components accurately to engineering drawings and quality standards.

You will read drawings, select tooling, perform bending and forming, check parts with measuring equipment, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while meeting production targets.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and setting press brake machines.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of measurements, tolerances and specifications.
• Ability to work accurately and independently.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Health & safety awareness in a manufacturing environment.
• British citizenship due to MOD security requirements.
• Experience within sheet metal or fabrication.
• Experience using verniers, micrometers, angle gauges.
• Experience working with various materials and thicknesses.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate Amada press brake machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Select and set correct tooling for each job.
• Carry out bending and forming operations to required specifications and tolerances.
• Check completed components using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Ensure components meet drawing and customer requirements.
• Work efficiently to production schedules and priorities.
• Identify and report any quality or production issues.
• Perform basic machine checks and maintain a clean, safe working area.
• Follow all health & safety and security procedures.
• Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to achieve production targets.
