Job summary

NE&C Windows & Doors is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the aluminium production department. You will supervise day-to-day operations, develop the team and drive improvements in quality, efficiency, safety and output.

This hands-on role requires leading the production staff, optimising workflows, reducing waste and monitoring performance to meet targets while upholding high manufacturing standards. Based in Washington, Tyne and Wear, it is a full-time, permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Production Management and Scheduling: Supervise daily production activities within the aluminium department, ensuring an efficient workflow and adherence to production schedules, deadlines and output targets.
• Quality and Compliance: Maintain high manufacturing and quality standards while ensuring production activities comply with relevant safety requirements and industry regulations.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, train, mentor and evaluate production staff, supporting their development and promoting strong performance, teamwork and safe working practices.
• Workflow and Efficiency Improvement: Optimise production processes, identify opportunities to reduce waste and implement continuous improvements that enhance productivity, efficiency and product quality.
• Equipment and Mechanical Support: Monitor equipment functionality and carry out basic mechanical troubleshooting where required to minimise disruption to production.
• Production Area Standards: Conduct regular inspections of the production environment to maintain appropriate standards of cleanliness, organisation, safety and compliance.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the installation team and other departments to coordinate priorities, meet daily deadlines and resolve operational issues.
• Production Reporting and Waste Management: Maintain accurate production records and monitor key measures including output levels, efficiency and waste management.
