• Experience in aluminium fabrication, fenestration, glazing or window and door manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of aluminium window and door products.
• Proven experience leading a production, factory or workshop environment.
• Ability to manage materials, stock and supplier requirements.
• Hands-on management style with involvement in detail when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day aluminium manufacturing and fabrication operation.
• Lead, motivate and develop the production team.
• Plan production schedules, workloads and labour requirements.
• Monitor production output, productivity, quality and delivery performance.
• Ensure products are manufactured to specification.
• Manage materials, stock levels and production requirements.
• Work with suppliers and procurement to ensure material availability.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and profitability.
• Monitor and reduce waste, rework and downtime.
• Maintain high standards of quality control.
• Ensure health & safety procedures and manufacturing standards are maintained.
• Manage production KPIs and report to senior management.
• Collaborate with sales, surveying, installation and other departments from order to dispatch.
• Support growth and development of the aluminium operation.

ALUMINIUM MANAGER

Chase Taylor Recruitment are working on behalf of a well-established and growing business within the conservatory, glazing and home improvement sector, who are looking to appoint an experienced Aluminium Manager to lead their aluminium operation.

This is a key management position responsible for the day-to-day running, performance and development of the aluminium manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will come from a fenestration, glazing or aluminium fabrication background and have experience managing production, people, quality and operational performance.

THE ROLE

As Aluminium Manager, you will take responsibility for the efficient running of the aluminium operation, ensuring products are manufactured to the required quality standards, within agreed timescales and to customer specification.

Key responsibilities will include:

• • Managing the day-to-day aluminium manufacturing and fabrication operation.
• • Leading, motivating and developing the production team.
• • Planning production schedules, workloads and labour requirements.
• • Monitoring production output, productivity, quality and delivery performance.
• • Ensuring aluminium windows, doors and associated products are manufactured correctly and to specification.
• • Managing materials, stock levels and production requirements.
• • Working closely with suppliers and procurement to ensure materials are available when required.
• • Identifying opportunities to improve production processes, efficiency and profitability.
• • Monitoring and reducing waste, rework and production downtime.
• • Maintaining high standards of quality control.
• • Ensuring health & safety procedures and manufacturing standards are maintained.
• • Managing production KPIs and providing regular operational updates to senior management.
• • Working closely with sales, surveying, installation and other departments to ensure a smooth process from order through to manufacture and dispatch.
• • Supporting the continued growth and development of the aluminium operation.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced Aluminium, Production or Operations Manager with a strong understanding of the fenestration industry.

Ideally, you will have:

• • Previous management experience within aluminium fabrication, fenestration, glazing or window and door manufacturing.
• • Strong technical knowledge of aluminium window and door products.
• • Experience managing a production, factory or workshop environment.
• • Proven experience leading and developing a team.
• • Good understanding of production planning, workflow and capacity management.
• • Strong focus on quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
• • Experience managing materials, stock and supplier requirements.
• • Good commercial awareness and understanding of production costs.
• • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• • The ability to work closely with multiple departments and senior management.
• • A hands‑on management style with the ability to get involved in the detail when required.

Experience with aluminium bifold doors, sliding doors, windows, conservatories, roof systems or other specialist fenestration products would be highly advantageous.
