Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is supporting a mainstream primary school in Abergavenny to appoint an ALN Teaching Assistant. The role focuses on providing one-to-one support for a pupil with behavioural needs, helping them stay engaged and access activities across the school day.

The successful candidate will have prior experience in primary settings, especially with behavioural needs, and demonstrated patience, resilience, and strong communication. This is a full-time, long-term position starting ASAP.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream primary school in Abergavenny that is looking to appoint an ALN Teaching Assistant. The school is seeking a supportive and patient individual who can help provide a positive and inclusive learning environment for a pupil with behavioural needs.

The school is looking to take on an ALN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis starting ASAP. The successful ALN Teaching Assistant will provide one-to-one support for a child with behavioural needs who may leave the classroom, helping them to regulate their behaviour, re-engage with learning and access appropriate activities throughout the school day.

The successful ALN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children in a primary school or similar educational setting
• Experience supporting children with behavioural needs
• Experience providing one-to-one support
• Confidence supporting a child both inside and outside of the classroom
• A patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
