Legal & General Group is seeking an ALM Reporting Actuary to lead responses to daily and ad hoc ALM questions and own weekly ALM MI across Institutional Retirement Finance. The role combines actuarial judgement with strong asset knowledge to explain movements and improve reporting controls.

Successful candidates will have an understanding of investments, ALM, asset models and hedging, with experience in actuarial or financial reporting and a passion for automation using Python or R.

Qualifications

• Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary with strong actuarial knowledge.
• Strong investments, ALM, asset models and hedging or market risk understanding.
• Experience producing, reviewing or analysing actuarial or financial reporting.
• Ability to explain movements clearly to non-specialists.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Evidence of ownership and delivery under deadlines.
• Interest in automation; Python or R experience welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Lead accurate responses to daily and ad hoc ALM requests and own weekly ALM MI.
• Review changes in interest rate and inflation exposures and explain P&L movements.
• Assess ALM impact of proposed trades, new assets, PRT schemes and reinsurance.
• Produce concise analyses of change and escalate unusual results.
• Turn technical outputs into clear stakeholder communication and decision insight.
• Strengthen reporting processes, controls, governance and documentation.
• Develop automation and technology-enabled reporting solutions.
• Support changes to systems, methods and weekly vs month-end reporting.
