Legal & General seeks an ALM Analyst to support daily and ad hoc ALM requests for Institutional Retirement Finance. This hands-on role welcomes finance, investments or data‑led backgrounds and does not require actuary status.

The role is Cardiff-based with occasional travel to our London office; you will deliver reliable analysis, maintain controls and contribute to automation and improved reporting through strong Excel and data skills.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering recurring analytical, finance or reporting outputs to firm deadlines.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Evidence of checking results for reasonableness and escalating issues.
• A practical approach to troubleshooting and solving process problems.
• Comfort working with code, models or automated workflows.
• Clear communication with colleagues across different specialist teams.
• Attention to detail, ownership and curiosity.
• Interest in ALM, investments, risk, insurance or pensions.

Responsibilities

• Running the regular weekly ALM MI process and responding accurately to daily or ad hoc ALM requests.
• Checking outputs for reasonableness and escalating unusual or unexpected results.
• Preparing concise analysis and commentary on key movements.
• Supporting what‑if analysis for trades, new assets, new PRT schemes and reinsurance activity.
• Maintaining reporting controls, methodology and process documentation.
• Troubleshooting data, model and process issues with senior support.
• Contributing to automation and technology‑enabled reporting improvements.
• Communicating delivery status, risks and issues to relevant stakeholders.
