Legal & General (L&G) is seeking an ALM Reporting Actuary to lead responses to daily and ad hoc ALM requests and own weekly ALM MI for Institutional Retirement Finance. The role combines actuarial judgement with asset knowledge to turn movements into insight.

The position is Cardiff based with occasional travel to London a few times per month. Relevant experience in life insurance, pensions, investments or risk is welcome, with automation and data skills highly valued.

Qualifications

• Actuarial qualification pathway nearing completion.
• Experience with actuarial or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of investments, ALM, asset models, hedging or market risk.
• Ability to explain movements to non-specialists.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Evidence of ownership and delivery under deadlines.
• Ability to work across actuarial, investment, risk and finance teams.
• Interest in automation; Python or R welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Lead responses to daily and ad hoc ALM requests and weekly ALM MI.
• Review interest rate and inflation exposure movements and explain P&L changes.
• Assess ALM impact of proposed trades, new assets, PRT schemes and reinsurance.
• Produce concise analyses of changes and escalate unusual results.
• Translate technical outputs into clear stakeholder insights.
• Strengthen reporting processes, controls, governance and documentation.
• Develop automation and technology-enabled reporting solutions.
• Support system changes linking weekly and month-end reporting.
