Job summary

Legalandgeneral is seeking an ALM Analyst to support daily and ad hoc ALM requests and weekly reporting for asset and liability decisions within Institutional Retirement Finance. This is a hands-on, data‑driven role that values precision and timely delivery.

You don’t need to be an actuary; candidates from finance, investments, insurance, pensions, operations or other data-led environments are welcome. The role is based in Cardiff with travel to the London office a few times each month, covered

• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Evidence of checking results for reasonableness and escalating issues.

Responsibilities

• Run the regular weekly ALM MI process and respond to daily or ad hoc ALM requests.
• Check outputs for reasonableness and escalate unusual results.
• Prepare concise analysis and commentary on key movements.
• Support what-if analysis for trades, new assets, new PRT schemes and reinsurance activity.
• Maintain reporting controls, methodology and process documentation.
• Troubleshoot data, model and process issues with senior support.
• Contribute to automation and technology-enabled reporting improvements.
• Communicate delivery status, risks and issues to stakeholders.

Job description

We are looking for an ALM Analyst to support daily and ad hoc ALM requests as well as the regular weekly information used for asset and liability decisions across Institutional Retirement Finance. This is a hands‑on analytical role for someone who enjoys dependable delivery, can spot when numbers do not look right and wants to improve how reporting is produced. You do not need to be an actuary. We are open to candidates from finance, investments, insurance, pensions, operations or other data‑led environments.

The role will be Cardiff based but will require travel to the London office a few times a month, this will be covered by the business

What you'll be doing:

• Running the regular weekly ALM MI process and responding accurately to daily or ad hoc ALM requests
• Checking outputs for reasonableness and escalating unusual or unexpected results
• Preparing concise analysis and commentary on key movements
• Supporting what-if analysis for trades, new assets, new PRT schemes and reinsurance activity
• Maintaining reporting controls, methodology and process documentation
• Troubleshooting data, model and process issues with senior support
• Contributing to automation and technology-enabled reporting improvements
• Communicating delivery status, risks and issues to relevant stakeholders
