Marlin Selection is seeking a quantitative trader to own and operate market-making and arbitrage strategies across tokenised commodities and their traditional market equivalents.
You will manage risk, optimise execution, and develop robust trading infrastructure while collaborating with a dedicated desk and engineers to scale on-chain RFQ capabilities and external partnerships.
Working with established financial institutions, exchanges and industrial producers, the business is connecting traditional commodities markets with digital asset infrastructure. This is an opportunity to take ownership of trading strategies, P&L and the technology supporting execution, while working closely with a proprietary trading desk and specialist engineers.
You will build and operate market-making and arbitrage strategies across tokenised commodities and their traditional market equivalents. Combining trading judgement with strong technical capability, you will manage risk, optimise execution and develop reliable trading infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and running algorithmic arbitrage strategies between tokenised metals and liquid commodity futures.
Providing liquidity in tokenised metals, managing quotes and inventory alongside physical market hedges.
Owning strategy P&L, monitoring performance and improving execution and risk management.
Managing relationships with external market-making partners and identifying opportunities to bring further trading capabilities in-house.
Leading the trading development of an on-chain request-for-quote (RFQ) solver, working with specialist blockchain engineers.
Identifying additional arbitrage and market-making opportunities across digital assets and other markets.
This is a hands-on position requiring you to build and maintain the trading systems supporting your strategies, including:
Exchange connectivity and market data infrastructure.
Data collection, storage and management.
Order and portfolio management systems.
Signal generation, execution logic and trading automation.
Reporting, P&L monitoring and operational controls.
Deployment, system monitoring and reliability.
The wider engineering team will provide support through AI tooling and specialist blockchain expertise, while you retain ownership of the trading infrastructure.
Demonstrable experience running algorithmic market-making or arbitrage strategies with live risk and direct P&L responsibility.
Strong Python skills and a proven record of independently building and operating trading systems.
A thorough understanding of order book dynamics, execution and inventory management.
Strong quantitative skills and a practical approach to strategy development.
The ability to work autonomously within a small, commercially focused team.
A background in quantitative development followed by a move into trading would be particularly relevant.
Experience at a crypto market maker or liquidity provision business.
Commodities trading knowledge, particularly metals.
Previous experience on an electronic FX or commodities desk at a bank or brokerage.
Rust programming experience or an interest in developing it.
Familiarity with on-chain markets and decentralised finance.
