You will join Amaris Consulting within our engineering consulting scope, supporting spacecraft assembly, integration, and testing activities in an international aerospace environment. As a Spacecraft Harness Manufacturing Consultant, the role will focus on the manufacture, routing, inspection, and delivery of flight harnesses and test cables for spacecraft development projects, while ensuring compliance with electrical, grounding, environmental, and quality requirements.
Your Missions
- Manufacture spacecraft flight harnesses and test cables in line with project specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
- Implement harness designs during the manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with electrical, grounding, and environmental requirements.
- Perform build, inspection, and verification activities for flight hardware and ground support equipment.
- Support spacecraft test cable manufacture for assembly, integration, and testing activities.
- Liaise with spacecraft systems teams to identify, document, and resolve technical issues or anomalies.
- Contribute to harness routing discussions and provide practical input based on manufacturing and integration constraints.
- Provide progress reporting on harness manufacturing activities, risks, and delivery status.
- Support general assembly, integration, testing, and environmental verification activities, including off-site or overseas project support when required.
Your Profile
- Experience in harness and cable manufacture within the space, aerospace, defence, or high-reliability manufacturing sector.
- Experience working with spacecraft flight hardware during design, development, implementation, verification, or validation phases.
- Experience executing work and inspection activities according to recognised quality and manufacturing standards.
- Experience working in cleanroom conditions is a plus.
- Proficiency in spacecraft harness manufacture, cable assembly, crimping, RF coaxial cable preparation, grounding requirements, and electrical continuity principles.
- Knowledge of ECSS-Q-ST-70-26 for crimping of high-reliability electrical connections and ECSS-Q-ST-70-18 for preparation, assembly, and mounting of RF coaxial cables.
- Academic background with a minimum HNC/HND in an engineering or science discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience in the space industry.
- English fluent.
- EU-based personal security clearance held currently or within the last five years, and citizenship of a European Union member state or Schengen-associated country.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, flexibility, and pragmatic problem-solving skills, with the ability to support irregular hours, weekend work during peak workload periods, overseas travel, and site mobility when required.
