Job summary

Mane Contract Services seeks Assembly Technicians / Cable Harness Technicians to join a defence-focused production team in Ampthill. You will manufacture electrical cables and harnesses from engineering drawings in a high-volume environment.

Candidates should have cable harness or electrical assembly experience, knowledge of IPC standards, and be eligible for SC clearance. This is a full-time onsite role with a 4-day week (Mon-Thurs), offering ongoing training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in cable harness or electrical assembly manufacturing.
• Production line or medium/high-volume manufacturing experience.
• Crimping and high-accuracy soldering.
• Able to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
• IPC 620 or IPC/J-STD knowledge.
• ESD awareness and safe handling practices.

Responsibilities

• Assemble cables and harnesses to engineering specs.
• Crimp, solder, wire and perform electrical assembly tasks.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Use hand tools, jigs, fixtures and measuring equipment.
• Support high-quality production output on complex hardware.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.

A leading defence engineering organisation is looking for multiple Assembly Technicians / Cable Harness Technicians to join their growing production team in Ampthill.

The Role

You'll be involved in the manufacture and assembly of electrical cables and harnesses, working from engineering drawings and detailed work instructions within a high-volume production environment.

Duties will include:

• Cable and harness assembly to engineering specifications
• Crimping, soldering, wiring, and electrical assembly work
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Using hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring equipment
• Supporting high-quality production output on complex hardware
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety and housekeeping
