Job summary

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is seeking an Engineering Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6-month contract based in Flintshire. The MOD is a central government department focused on national security and defence capabilities.

As the responsible engineering authority for airworthiness within MRO/U, you will oversee new repair and upgrade capabilities, implement a structured performance framework, and monitor key metrics. SC clearance is essential.

Qualifications

• Essential knowledge of airworthiness within aviation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience implementing performance management and KPIs.
• Ability to approve engineering data and repair solutions.
• SC Clearance or willingness to undergo checks is essential.

Responsibilities

• Act as engineering authority for airworthiness within MRO/U scope.
• Oversee development, qualification and industrialisation of repair capabilities.
• Define and monitor KPIs such as lead time, first-time-right, TAT.
• Manage obsolescence, redesign and alternate component qualification.
• Support failure investigations and reliability improvements.
