Job summary

Thompson Aero Seating in Banbridge, United Kingdom, is seeking an engineering professional to design aircraft seating concepts and customise products for customers worldwide. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to ensure design-to-cost, on-time delivery, quality and airworthiness in line with aviation regulations.

Responsibilities include preparing specifications, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, supporting change management, and root-cause analysis to mitigate

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant Engineering degree, apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Ability to provide input to technical solutions across problems and manufacturing principles.
• Experience contributing to completion of programs and projects.
• Self-starter capable of breaking down complex tasks.
• Organised, able to work with cross-functional teams and departments.
• Knowledge of regulatory certification rules and CFR Part 25 design guidelines.
• Experience in a compliance role is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications, technical plans and reports for aircraft seating.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure airworthiness.
• Work on concessions to maintain airworthiness.
• Support change management through design reviews and impact analyses.
• Assist with troubleshooting and product investigations.
• Contribute to bids and statements of work for new requests.
• Design new products to meet reliability and airworthiness requirements.
• Identify airworthiness risks and propose solutions.
