Job summary

Babcock at St Athan, near Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan, is hiring an Aircraft Technician to support aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance, and scheduled servicing. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:15 to 17:15, and is on-site.

You will follow technical data and maintenance documentation, work in a safety-critical environment, and engage with stakeholders while pursuing ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Must have recognised aircraft apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Knowledge of aircraft maintenance engineering procedures.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Eligible for Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Supporting aircraft engineering, maintenance and servicing activities.
• Preparing aircraft for daily flying operations.
• Carrying out ground handling activities, including fuel and oil replenishment.
• Assisting with scheduled and corrective maintenance per procedures.
• Following technical data and maintenance documentation to support safe aircraft operations.
• Working within an aircraft maintenance/aviation engineering environment.
• Engaging with stakeholders and team members.
• Supporting maintenance activities in a safety-critical environment.
• Demonstrating a proactive approach to learning and professional development.

NVQ Level 3 qualification
