Job summary

Babcock is seeking an Aircraft Technician to support aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance, and scheduled servicing at St Athan, near Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. The role is full-time, on-site, with 40 hours per week, 08:15–17:15, Monday to Friday.

You will follow technical data and maintenance documentation, assist with ground handling, and work in a safety-critical environment while pursuing professional development and a Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) clearance where required.

The role

As an Aircraft Technician, you'll support aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance, scheduled servicing, corrective maintenance and a range of technical activities that help ensure aircraft are maintained to the highest standards.

This role is full-time, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:15 to 17:15, and is based on site at St Athan, near Barry, Vale of Glamorgan.

Day-to-day you'll be required to:

• Supporting aircraft engineering, maintenance and servicing activities.
• Preparing aircraft for daily flying operations and operational requirements.
• Carrying out ground handling activities, including fuel and oil replenishment.
• Assisting with scheduled and corrective maintenance activities in line with approved procedures.
• Following technical data, engineering instructions and maintenance documentation to support safe aircraft operations.

Essential experience of the Aircraft Technician

• Interpreting technical data and engineering documentation.
• Working within an aircraft maintenance or aviation engineering environment.
• Engaging effectively with a range of stakeholders and team members.
• Supporting maintenance activities in a safety-critical environment.
• Demonstrating a proactive approach to learning and professional development.

Qualifications for the Aircraft Technician

• Recognised Aircraft Apprenticeship, Military aviation experience, NVQ Level 3 qualification, or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Knowledge of aircraft maintenance engineering procedures.
• Full UK driving licence.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
