Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Air Traffic Controller Assistant to support operations at Randburg aerodrome. The role involves monitoring radar, communicating with pilots, maintaining logs, and assisting certified controllers in safe traffic flow.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, ATC training or equivalent, excellent communication, calm under pressure, and the ability to work rotating shifts. South African citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Air Traffic Control training program or equivalent experience.
• Ability to learn and apply procedures quickly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor radar displays and provide essential information to Air Traffic Controllers.
• Relay flight information, clearances, and instructions between controllers and pilots.
• Maintain accurate flight progress strips and logs.
• Assist with communication protocols and standard phraseology.
