Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Freight Account Manager (Air & Sea) in Manchester. The role offers a £35,000–£45,000 salary plus commission, progression, and a company bonus, with hybrid working and client visits.

You will manage an existing portfolio, develop new business, negotiate rates, and work with internal teams to deliver excellent service. Some travel to client sites is required.

Qualifications

• Experience managing freight accounts and developing commercial opportunities.
• Proven knowledge of air and sea freight operations and rates.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and manage on-site visits.
• Resident within commuting distance of Manchester or able to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow an existing portfolio of freight accounts.
• Identify and win new business opportunities and develop proposals.
• Negotiate freight rates and service levels with customers.
• Collaborate with internal operations to fulfil customer requirements.
• Attend client meetings and travel to sites as needed.
• Contribute to revenue growth through commissions and upsell.
