Job summary

Manifest Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Operator to join an independent forwarding business in Leeds. The role covers both Air and Ocean freight, Imports and Exports, with end-to-end ownership of shipments from start to finish.

You will coordinate bookings, manage freight documentation and customs, liaise with customers and overseas partners, monitor shipments and provide updates.

Qualifications

• Hands-on operational experience within UK freight forwarding.
• Experience across Air and/or Ocean Freight operations.
• Understanding of international freight documentation and shipping procedures.
• Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage shipments independently.
• MultiFreight experience advantageous, but not required.
• Full right to work in the UK.

An opportunity for an experienced Freight Forwarding Operator to join an independent forwarding business in Leeds, working across international Air and Ocean Freight operations.

This is a varied, hands-on position covering both Imports and Exports, offering the opportunity to take ownership of shipments from start to finish while developing wider multimodal experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinating Air and Ocean Import and Export shipments from booking through to final delivery
• Managing freight documentation, customs requirements and transport arrangements
• Liaising with customers, overseas agents, airlines, shipping lines and hauliers
• Monitoring shipments, resolving operational issues and providing customer updates
• Supporting quotations, costing, invoicing and wider operational activities

About You:

• Hands-on operational experience within UK freight forwarding - essential
• Experience across Air and/or Ocean Freight operations
• Good understanding of international freight documentation and shipping procedures
• Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills
• Commercial awareness and the ability to manage shipments independently
• MultiFreight experience advantageous, but not essential
