Job summary

WR Logistics is seeking an experienced Air Freight Operator to join the Midlands team. You will manage air freight shipments from booking to delivery, handling import/export operations and liaising with overseas agents, airlines and customers to ensure efficient, compliant service.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously. You will work within a globally connected freight forwarding environment offering varied cargo

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an air freight operations role.
• Good understanding of the end-to-end air freight forwarding process.
• Experience handling import and/or export shipments.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Managing air freight shipments from initial booking through to final delivery.
• Handling both import and export air freight operations.

• Preparing and checking all relevant shipping documentation.
• Obtaining rates, arranging bookings and negotiating with suppliers.
• Monitoring shipments and proactively resolving any operational issues.
• Ensuring customs requirements and compliance procedures are followed.
• Providing customers with regular shipment updates and maintaining excellent service levels.
• Managing invoicing and ensuring shipments are accurately costed.

I'm working with a well-established international freight forwarding business that is looking to recruit an experienced Air Freight Operator to join its team in the Midlands.
