Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to join our client’s facilities management team in Cumbria. You will maintain, service and troubleshoot HVAC systems, including VRV/VRF units and chillers, across Carlisle and surrounding areas.

The role offers £43,000–£45,000 per annum, 40-hour week, on-call rota, 25 days' leave plus bank holidays, and training with progression opportunities. A Full UK driving licence and F-Gas Cat 1 certification are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer in facilities management.
• F-Gas Cat 1 certification held.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC installation, maintenance and repair techniques.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and troubleshoot air conditioning systems including split systems, VRV/VRF and chillers.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to prolong equipment lifespan.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimize downtime.
• Conduct inspections and assessments of HVAC systems and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate with maintenance personnel and contractors for complex repairs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe workplace.

Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer - Cumbria - HVAC Contractor: Commercial, Industrial & Public Sector

CBW Staffing Solutions are seeking a skilled Air Conditioning Engineer to join our client’s team of facilities management professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC maintenance and repair, responsible for maintaining and servicing air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance and end-client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have experience of industrial cooling and commissioning VRV/VRF air handling units.

This is a mobile role, covering Carlisle, Cumbria & surrounding areas.

Package:

• Competitive salary between £43,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)


• Core hours are Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)


• Participation in an ‘out of hours’ on call rota (to be confirmed)


• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, service and troubleshoot a variety of air conditioning systems, including split systems, VRV/VRF systems, and chillers


• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils, replacing filters, moving parts, to prolong the lifespan of HVAC equipment


• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in air conditioning units, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency


• Conduct inspections and assessments of HVAC systems to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate solutions


• Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and contractors to coordinate complex repairs and system upgrades


• Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations to promote a safe working environment

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer or similar role within the facilities management industry


• Hold your F‑Gas Cat 1 Regulations certification


• Full UK driving licence


• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair techniques


• Familiarity with refrigeration principles and equipment


• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults


• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
