Job summary

Sphere Solutions is seeking an Air Conditioning / Multi-Skilled Engineer for sites across Bristol, Cardiff and London. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs on VRV/VRF, chillers, AHUs and other HVAC equipment.

The successful engineer will have Level 2/3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, F-Gas Cat 1, a full UK driving licence and strong customer-facing skills. An opportunity to develop across multi-skilled plantrooms and related systems is highlighted.

Qualifications

• Solid background in commercial air conditioning servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repair.
• Relevant Level 2/3 qualification in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration or equivalent.
• F-Gas Category 1 / 2079 certification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good customer-facing and communication skills.
• Proactive fault finding and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Attend commercial/industrial sites for planned and reactive maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose faults and repair across HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Air Conditioning / Multi-Skilled Engineer

£40,000 – £50,000 + Overtime + Benefits

I’m currently recruiting for an established and growing air conditioning and building services contractor that is looking to strengthen its engineering team across Bristol, Cardiff and London.

With over 12 years of trading, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality air conditioning and HVAC solutions to a long-standing commercial and industrial client base.

The company provides a complete service, covering installation, planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and repair, with a strong emphasis on technical quality and customer service.

As an Air Conditioning / Multi-Skilled Engineer, you’ll be responsible for attending commercial and industrial sites, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults and completing repairs across a range of HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Typical equipment will include:

• VRV / VRF systems
• Split and multi-split systems
• Chillers
• AHUs
• Cold rooms
• Associated mechanical plant and equipment

You’ll be working directly with customers, so strong communication skills and a professional approach are important alongside your technical ability.

What They're Looking For

I'm interested in speaking with engineers who have a solid background in commercial air conditioning and can demonstrate experience in servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repair.

• Relevant Level 2/3 qualification in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration or equivalent
• F-Gas Category 1 / 2079 certification
• Proven experience working on commercial air conditioning systems
• Experience with VRV/VRF and split systems
• Full UK driving licence
• Good customer-facing and communication skills
• A proactive approach to fault finding and problem solving

Experience with plantrooms, pumps, valves and associated mechanical systems would be advantageous, particularly for candidates looking for a more multi-skilled role.

An apprenticeship in air conditioning/refrigeration would be beneficial but is not essential where you can demonstrate the relevant experience and qualifications.
