Job summary

Summer Browning, on behalf of a Central Government client, is seeking an AI Strategy & Policy Lead for an initial 9 month contract in London, Bristol or Manchester (hybrid). You will shape high-impact AI strategy and digital policy programmes in ambiguous environments, delivering evidence-based recommendations to senior decision-makers.

You will drive experimentation, pilots and test-and-learn activities, and collaborate across product, policy, technology, research, analytics and operations,

Qualifications

• Experience of AI, digital platforms, search, content ecosystems, data access or APIs.
• Experience in government, public sector transformation or public policy.
• Experience shaping partnerships with commercial technology organisations.
• Understanding of trust, safety, misinformation, algorithmic systems or digital inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex AI strategy and transformation programmes in ambiguous environments.
• Develop practical, evidence-based strategic recommendations for senior decision-makers.
• Design experimentation, pilots, test-and-learn activity or applied innovation programmes.
• Work across organisational boundaries and build alignment across product, policy, technology, research, analytics and operations.
• Engage senior external stakeholders, including technology partners, platforms or industry bodies.
• Produce clear, concise written products for executive decision-making.
