Job summary

SVGC Limited is seeking a Data Science Manager to lead a team of data scientists across multiple AI projects for public sector procurement. You will drive research, development, deployment, and ongoing support of AI solutions while engaging with customers and the wider team.

The role requires strong communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to align technical solutions with business goals. An Innovation Board programme supports proposal-based funding for new ideas.

Qualifications

• Security Clearance: SC or eligible to obtain SC clearance.
• British nationality or dual nationality with 6 years residency in the UK.
• A degree in a numerate subject (Maths/Engineering/Physics) or equivalent vocational experience.
• Strong analytical and statistical skills.
• Experience leading a team of Data Scientists on multiple AI projects.
• Proficiency with Power BI and data visualization tools.
• Experience deploying AI/GenAI in public or private sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end lifecycle for AI development, deployment, and maintenance (MLOps/GenAIops).
• Manage people, processes, and documentation for ML/GenAI solutions.
• Assess and progress technology readiness from research to production.
• Provide technical input on design, testing, integration and support of AI models.
• Govern QA of data science activities and collaborate with suppliers/academia.
• Support client workshops, requirements gathering and knowledge sharing.
