Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an AI Software Engineer for a permanent remote role in the UK. You will design and deploy AI agents that automate penetration testing, build sandboxed lab infrastructure with Docker/Kubernetes, and deliver AI features from design through production with guardrails.

The role emphasizes security tooling, evaluation, and cost optimisation. Ideal candidates have strong Python skills, some Go, experience with LLM-based AI apps, and a hands-on approach to building scalable systems

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering experience building and scaling production systems.
• Strong Python development skills; willingness to learn Go.
• Hands-on experience with production AI apps using large language models and agentic frameworks.
• Experience with tool integration, prompt design and RAG-like tech.
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud environments (GCP advantageous).
• Knowledge of microservices, async messaging and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy AI agents for automated penetration testing.
• Develop sandboxed cyber-lab and range infrastructure using containers and Kubernetes.
• Deliver AI features from design to production with guardrails and monitoring.
• Enhance agent performance via prompt engineering and tool orchestration.
• Integrate security tooling and ensure safe operation within defined scopes.
• Collaborate with researchers to translate offensive security techniques into agent behavior.
• Lead code reviews and design sessions; mentor engineers.
