Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment is seeking an AI Software Engineer to build intelligent products and drive AI-centric development. You’ll work on cloud apps, APIs, and AI capabilities such as document intelligence and RAG, using tools like Claude Code and Codex to accelerate delivery.

You’ll combine strong software skills (C#/.NET, TypeScript/Angular, Python/Django) with experience in APIs, databases, and cloud deployment, collaborating with users and domain experts to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• Production software experience in commercial projects.
• Proficient with one or more: C#/.NET, TypeScript/Angular, Python/Django.
• Experience building APIs and integrating relational databases.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and AI-driven development patterns.

Responsibilities

We're recruiting for a sustainability services business investing in its next generation of digital products. They're looking for a talented software engineer who combines strong development skills with practical experience of AI-assisted coding, generative AI and intelligent automation.

What you'll get involved in

• Build cloud applications, customer portals, APIs and integrations that turn complex data into useful products.
• Develop AI capabilities spanning document intelligence, semantic search, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and intelligent agents.
• Use tools such as Claude Code and Codex to accelerate development, applying sound judgement to testing, security and maintainability.
• Replace manual processes with intelligent workflows and help modernise existing platforms.
• Shape architecture, reusable components and engineering practices while working directly with users and domain specialists.

About You -

You've delivered production software and have strong skills in one or more of C# / .NET, TypeScript / Angular or Python / Django. You're comfortable building APIs, working with relational databases and integrating business systems.

You already use AI development tools and have practical experience incorporating generative AI, document intelligence or intelligent automation into working solutions. You understand LLM application patterns, including RAG and agent orchestration, and care about evaluating and monitoring what you ship.

Experience with Azure, PostgreSQL, CI/CD and cloud deployment would be valuable.
