Job summary

Senior AI Software Engineer

We're partnering with a well-established technology business undergoing a significant transformation in how software is built, tested, and deployed through AI-enabled engineering practices. This is an opportunity for a highly experienced engineer to play a key role in shaping the future of software delivery within a large-scale, enterprise environment. You will combine deep software engineering expertise with practical AI experience, helping drive faster, safer, and more intelligent development processes across a complex technology estate.

The Role

As a Principal AI Software Engineer, you'll work closely with product, engineering, and leadership teams to design and evolve AI-enabled development capabilities. You'll have ownership of technical architecture decisions, help implement AI-driven engineering workflows, and ensure high standards of quality, reliability, and governance are maintained. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building, solving complex technical problems, and driving engineering excellence at scale.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the design and implementation of AI-enabled software engineering solutions.

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on coding ability and a passion for technical problem-solving.
• Practical experience applying AI technologies within software development and engineering workflows.
• Ability to design technical architectures and make sound engineering decisions.
• Experience working across multiple programming languages and technology stacks.
• Strong understanding of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A collaborative approach and experience working within cross-functional teams.
