Job summary

Stratospherec Limited is recruiting a Software Engineer to join the client’s development team in a hands-on role combining software development, AI-powered automation and technical operations.

You will develop and maintain a platform built with PHP, MySQL and AWS, delivering improvements that support customers and colleagues, including AI-assisted development and automated responses in helpdesk workflows.

Qualifications

• Commercial software engineering experience at mid-level or above.
• Strong PHP and SQL skills with relational databases.
• Fundamentals: maintainable code, testing and debugging.
• Experience with deployment processes, CI/CD or automation.
• Experience in AWS cloud environments.
• Experience using AI-assisted development and AI-powered automation with judgement.
• Ownership mindset and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve software using AI tools and features from Jira tickets.
• Review and test both manually written and AI-generated code and maintain engineering standards.
• Develop and improve the AI-powered RAG pipeline for enhanced helpdesk support.
• Write and maintain SQL, manage schema changes and migrations for MySQL.
• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automate repetitive tasks.
• Monitor AWS infrastructure and develop alerting for availability and performance.
• Investigate complex technical problems and coordinate with external infra specialists.
