American Express is seeking a highly experienced Principal Architect to lead AI-enabled architecture strategy across Global Servicing and Technology. You will shape AI platforms, establish reference architectures, and drive enterprise-scale adoption while ensuring security, governance and performance.

The role requires deep architectural expertise, strong stakeholder influence, and the ability to operate across strategic and technical levels, delivering prototypes and production implementations.

Qualifikationen

• 15+ years of progressive experience in technology architecture or similar
• Experience designing enterprise-grade platforms and capabilities
• Deep knowledge of large-scale distributed systems, APIs and cloud-native platforms

Aufgaben

• Define and advance AI and agentic platform architecture strategy
• Provide hands-on architectural thought-leadership for complex AI use cases
• Establish reference architectures, reusable patterns and guardrails for generative AI and agentic systems
• Ensure AI architectures align with security, privacy, risk, compliance and governance requirements
• Lead architecture reviews and provide actionable guidance to improve design quality and reduce risk
• Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to technical and executive audiences
• Mentor architects and engineers to strengthen AI architecture capabilities
