Job summary

MCS Group | Your Specialist Recruitment Consultancy is seeking a Data & Automation Specialist for our Northern Ireland client. The role sits at the intersection of data analytics, business improvement, automation and AI, working with the Operations Director to identify inefficiencies and deliver technology-led improvements.

This on-site position focuses on using Power BI, SQL, automation and AI tools to streamline processes, improve data quality and enhance reporting across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering process improvements and reporting solutions.
• Hands-on Power BI experience.
• Knowledge of SQL for data interrogation and validation.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to improve spreadsheet processes.
• Experience with Power Automate or similar workflow platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Stakeholder management with non-technical teams.
• Experience delivering improvements from requirements to implementation.
• Understanding AI tools and data handling implications.

Responsibilities

• Understand processes with stakeholders across the business and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Review and document workflows, translating business requirements into practical solutions.
• Identify repetitive, manual, or spreadsheet-heavy processes for automation.
• Build and implement automated workflows using Power Automate or similar tech.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Use SQL to extract, validate and analyse data from business systems.
• Improve data quality, consistency, and accessibility across the organisation.
• Explore AI applications and emerging technologies within business processes.
• Assess AI use cases based on data needs and business value.
• Work with internal IT and external partners on integrations and enhancements.
• Coordinate testing, documentation, training and implementation of new solutions.
• Manage a prioritised programme of improvement initiatives and measure impact.
