Job summary

CPS Group UK are partnering with a global Financial Services organisation to source an ambitious AI Innovation Lab Engineer to join a newly established innovation team in London. You will identify, test and scale high-value AI opportunities across the enterprise.

This is a build-first, autonomous role where you’ll prototype quickly, test with real users, and turn concepts into enterprise-scale solutions. Start ASAP on a 6-month contract with a daily rate of £450–£480.

This is not a traditional project role. You'll be part of a small, high-impact innovation lab with the freedom to explore emerging technologies, build prototypes rapidly, validate ideas with real users, and help turn promising concepts into enterprise-scale solutions.

Role Overview

• Develop AI agents, automations and intelligent workflows across modern enterprise platforms.
• Prototype and experiment with generative AI and large language model solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience building AI-enabled solutions, prototypes, automations or intelligent agents.
• Strong understanding of AI technologies and their practical business applications.
• Experience working with modern AI platforms and large language model technologies.
• Ability to work independently and deliver outcomes in ambiguous environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to move quickly, experiment, learn and adapt.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with platforms such as Salesforce, AWS, Microsoft technologies, data platforms, or AI agent frameworks.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and automation technologies.
