Job summary

Vacantc Legal Recruitment seeks a Risk & Compliance Manager to lead regulatory and AML duties for an AI-native conveyancing firm. You will report to the COO and Head of Legal Practice, helping shape the compliance framework from the ground up and partnering with MLRO, engineers, and conveyancers.

This high-impact role requires deep AML experience, data protection leadership, and a proactive, AI-aware governance mindset to balance innovation with regulatory standards in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in compliance or risk in a regulated environment with AML experience.
• Experience in early-stage or scaling businesses building compliance from scratch.
• Strong knowledge of UK AML, POCA, sanctions and LSAG guidance.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory management: lead regulatory questions and track changes.
• AML: maintain risk assessment, AML policy, due diligence standards.
• Suspicious activity: evaluate reports, prepare SARs, support MLRO.
• Data protection: lead UK GDPR compliance, DPIAs and processing records.
• Wider compliance: update policies across client money, conflicts, and information security.
• Breaches and escalations: manage breach framework and reporting to HOLP.
