Boots UK is hiring an AI Engineering Lead in Nottingham to shape the future of AI across the organisation. You will provide technical leadership, set engineering standards for secure, scalable, production-ready AI apps, and partner with multiple teams to define how AI is built and deployed.

You will mentor engineers, drive DevOps practices, and align governance with architecture and security teams, advancing Boots' AI capabilities and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven software/platform/AI engineering experience in a large enterprise.
• Experience designing and deploying AI or intelligent applications.
• Strong grasp of CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud platforms.
• Experience defining technical standards and reusable frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience with architecture, security, data, and delivery integrations.
• Understanding of AI governance and enterprise security controls.
• Strong problem-solving balancing innovation, risk and ops.

Responsibilities

• Define AI engineering standards, patterns and best practices.
• Evolve AI engineering roadmap and capability maturity.
• Establish reusable frameworks, accelerators and assets.
• Lead AI DevOps, deployment, monitoring and observability.
• Support design and delivery of AI solutions and AI-enabled apps.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Governance to guardrails.
• Mentor engineers and grow AI engineering capability.
