Job summary

Chroma Recruitment is seeking an AI Engineer in Manchester with a hybrid work model. You will design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions, focusing on ML models, LLM applications, and intelligent automation while collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.

The role combines strong software engineering with practical AI expertise to shape and deliver the organisation's AI strategy.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience developing AI, ML, or generative AI solutions.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience with LLMs and generative AI technologies.
• Knowledge of PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience with Azure AI Services.
• Understanding of prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and vector databases.
• Experience building and deploying APIs and cloud-based applications.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI and machine learning solutions in production environments.
• Develop and optimise Large Language Model (LLM) applications.
• Create AI-powered copilots, chatbots, knowledge management solutions, and workflow automation tools.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to support AI initiatives.
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks and vector databases.
• Integrate AI technologies into existing business systems, applications, and processes.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend solutions that deliver measurable business benefits.
• Monitor and improve model performance, accuracy, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Establish AI governance, best practices, and responsible AI standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on AI adoption and implementation.
