AI Enablement Lead – Hybrid (South West London, UK)
Fixed-term contract, 12 months with strong potential for extension | Technology (AI Enablement) | Full-time, two days per week on-site
About the role
You will help engineering, product and technology teams at a large international business move from experimenting with AI to using it day to day. This is a newly created role in a heavily regulated sector, and the focus is on enabling teams to build, deploy and govern AI solutions themselves, not on building them for the business. It suits an experienced technologist who has moved into coaching or enablement and who judges success by whether people leave a workshop having built something.
You will be on-site in South West London two days per week.
What you’ll be doing
- Run hands-on AI workshops where teams build working solutions during the session
- Coach engineering and product teams on identifying and prioritising AI use cases
- Help teams understand and implement AI agents, RAG, LLMs, prompt engineering and automation tools
- Create training content, learning modules and enablement programmes, and assess capability gaps
- Support teams from idea through to production deployment
- Embed best practice in governance, security, compliance and responsible AI use
- Work with senior stakeholders to drive adoption, and help developers get more from tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor
What we’re looking for
- Essential: experience training, enabling and coaching technical teams
- Essential: a background in software engineering, data engineering, AI engineering, solutions architecture, platform engineering or DevOps
- Essential: a strong understanding of production AI solutions, with hands‑on experience of AI agents, RAG, LLMs, APIs, MCP and automation platforms
- Essential: experience delivering workshops where attendees build working solutions themselves
- Essential: the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Essential: a strong understanding of the SDLC, governance and delivery processes, and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Desirable: coding knowledge in Python and SQL
- Desirable: experience in regulated environments such as financial services, fintech or gaming, and with AWS
- Desirable: vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or low‑code tools such as n8n
- Desirable: experience delivering enablement programmes across large or international organisations
What you get
- The chance to shape AI adoption across a technology function of over 1,000 people
- Visibility and influence across engineering and leadership teams
- Work with modern AI platforms and tooling
- Strong executive support in a business investing heavily in AI
- A 12-month contract with strong potential for extension or a longer‑term role
This role suits
An experienced software, data or AI practitioner who gets as much satisfaction from helping others build as from building themselves.
