Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced engineer to build and advance AI-enabled developer tooling within its engineering platform. You will own tooling around agent configurations, prompt libraries, evaluation frameworks and internal services, collaborating with an AI Architect on patterns and guardrails.

Based in the UK or Sweden, you will mentor teams, drive adoption metrics, extend tooling across departments, and help redefine the SDLC to harness AI responsibly.

Qualifications

Proven, evidenced track record of building tools that engineers rely on.
Strong software engineering background with 5+ years of experience.
Ability to write production code in a modern stack.
Practical AI/LLM experience and tooling adoption across teams.
Translate tooling and practices for non-engineering audiences.

Job description

Responsibilities

Build and maintain the paved road for AI-supported engineering, including reusable agent configurations, prompt libraries, evaluation frameworks and internal tools
Work with the AI Architect to shape and build shared AI patterns, guardrails and tools
Own rollout and configuration of coding agents across the engineering toolchain
Partner with Platform Engineering on model mix and access
Evaluate new models, tools and emerging patterns and turn them into adopted engineering practices
Build lightweight internal services and agents that remove team-level toil
Partner with Engineering Directors and teams to redesign parts of the SDLC around AI through hands-on pairing
Define and track adoption and impact metrics such as usage, cycle time and quality
Embed responsible AI standards into tools and workflows
Mentor engineers and influence decisions where AI tooling intersects with platform design
Extend proven tooling and enablement practices beyond Product Engineering to other departments

Requirements

Proven, evidenced track record of building tools and enabling engineers within developer experience, platform engineering or internal tooling
Concrete examples of tools shipped that other engineers rely on
Strong software engineering background with 5+ years of experience
Ability to write production code in a modern stack
Practical experience building value with AI and large language models
Track record of enabling wider engineering teams to adopt AI practices
Comfortable using AI coding tools day to day
Comfortable operating in ambiguity
Ability to translate technical tooling and practice for a non-engineering audience
Genuine appetite to help define AI-native engineering
Must be based in the UK or Sweden
